Morning Has Broken

Morning Has Broken, sung by Cat Stevens was one of my fathers favorite songs. I can hear him singing and whisling. I will never not be able to listen to this song and not hear him.

The day we said our final good-bye to my dad we saw a beautiful rainbow, my aunt told my cousin "there is your uncle smiling down at you", I can't help but wonder if she was right.

Just Grab Your Camera!

Last week my father passed away suddenly. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, nobody was ready for him to go yet, not even him. At his funeral there were plenty of great photo's of him through out his entire life on display, but this one stuck out to me. On a technical level everything about is wrong, but on an emoitional level everything is right. The picture isn't even in focus but yet it captures a moment. A grandfather (also a man who loved all babies) enjoying holding his sleeping grandson. You can see how happy and peaceful he is. This was taken before the photography bug bit me, but it shows me that anybody and everybody can take great photos - even if it is technicallly wrong. So stop worrying, grab your camera and just take some pictures.
